I am already dreading next year.  Next year we will not be escaping our Victorian Winter like we have done in the past four years.  Boo Hoo!  I just need to remind myself what other adventures await because of this sacrifice.  We Robinsons are never not planning a trip.  It is what keeps us going, it gives us something to look forward to and something to plan.  We love travelling – we love exploring our great country in the caravan and we love flying overseas to visit other lands as well.  Always a new place to stay, fabulous food to eat, sunsets to have a drink at, a view to see or a new experience to have and making zillions of memories along the way.

This year was our epic North Queensland adventure.  From cold Trafalgar all the way up to Port Douglas and back via Cairns, Airlie Beach, 1770, Gold Coast and Byron Bay.  We hitched on to a caravan of courage with another four families and had the time of our lives with these fabulous friends over the course of a month.  I can’t say I truly had my photo mojo on – I enjoyed switching off completely for Facebook for a month and kind of felt like I was switching a bit of my photography mojo off at the same time.  I still managed to document our trip as I always do.  Here are just some of my favourite images from our time on the road.

The words of Bliss n Esso below really do reflect how I feel about our holiday and about all the family trips we are blessed enough to take with our children……or even without might I add.

“Time is precious and there is no going back. Shit if I could freeze this photograph and dive in the windows of my eyes to feel how I felt inside right in that moment in time I’d bring it all back to life. So fuck the money, clothes and accessories cause the only thing we take to our grave is our memories. I said fuck the money, clothes and accessories cause the only thing we really own is our memories.”

Now on to planning how to incorporate my love of travelling with my love of family photography and into my business.  Anyone want to fly me to help you document YOUR family holiday?  I will bring our drone!!
